Look at the breakdown:

7 Bon Scott era songs
5 Brian Johnson era songs
5 BLACK ICE songs

If I HAD to, I'd ditch THE JACK and TNT for HEATSEEKER and GUNS FOR HIRE or SHAKE YOUR FOUNDATIONS ..... 2 Bon songs for 2 Brian songs. I LOVE Bon Scott, but this is Brian Johnson, and THE JACK was really a signature Bon tune...but that is just me.

31 years gone!

I realize I am a couple of days late with this.... but I just wanted to take a moment to remember RONNIE VAN ZANT, the leader of Lynyrd Skynyrd who perished in the plane crash on October 20, 1977.... 31 years ago this past Monday.

2 years ago, I was in Jacksonville on business.... I made a little Lynyrd Skynyrd tour where I went and saw some of their old hangouts and visited the graves of those who had passed. The whole time, I was listening to their music, and it gave me a much greater appreciation for them and what they did. Ronnie was really an incredible person. He may not have been terribly "book smart", but he was very street saavy and knew what he was doing. As time goes by, it becomes more & more apparent....Skynyrd probably was THE AMERICAN ROLLING STONES.

What could have been.....

Alice Cooper at The Tabernacle

What a night! This was one of the first post 9-11 shows I worked that actually had a decent turn out and a decent walk-up.
It also actually happened to be the home opener for The Thrashers as well that same night. The Thrashers were doing some kind of cross promotion with the Alice show…. I think Alice went and dropped the first puck at Philips, and season ticket holders got free Alice tix, or something like that.

I worked over at Philips that day, left about 4:30 and walked over to the Tab to start my shift…. In typical Tabernacle fashion for the time, the guy who was the manager (Bob), kept EVERYBODY in the dark, and no one knew a thing about anything going on. So much to my surprise, about 5:30, there is a knock on the Box Office door… I leave the window and answer it to find 2 of my 3 ticketing mentors standing there in the doorway: Wendell & Sam!

That was the last 2 people I expected to see over at The Tabernacle! Thank goodness they showed up! They began to brief me on all the Thrashers cross promotion stuff that was going on that night, how some Thrashers folks had their Alice tix, some did not… Wendell had a partial list, but I knew to just “hook some folks up” if they came over and said the right things…… Wendell, too, was at the mercy of a sales Dept who didn’t bother telling him much of anything. He also told me that some of The Thrashers may come over too. Thank goodness Sam & Wendell came by!

Well, I ended up keeping the Box office open a lot later to accommodate some of the Hockey folks and a bunch of the players that came over too

That was a fun night! We walked up about 300 tix, we had about 1600 people in the door, which may not sound like a lot, but in the month or 2 after 9-11, that was A LOT! My buddy Rick came to the show, as did Duane….Rod walked over, I believe… it was a fun night!

I went out to watch some of the beginning... I missed the first song or 2, but Alice would always do these things where he would open a door, or a locker, reach into it and grab some prop he would use for a song or two… .such as, he’d come out onstage in the top hat, swing open this locker or door, reach inside and grab his walking stick…. Or a few songs later, he’d reach in and get his samurai sword…. Or the boa constrictor snake. Well this night, he done a couple of songs, and it was time for the first prop of the night…. He reached in and pulled out an American Flag.

To say the place went banana would be a huge understatement! I thought they were going to blow the roof off the Tabernacle! I must admit, I got a bit of a lump in my throat too.

He brought it back out toward the end of the show, see the enclosed picture from that night.

Here is the setlist…. It was an awesome show! His daughter did this Britney Spears thing toward the end of the show, and Alice snuck up behind her and cut her throat… it was too cool!

Hard to believe, that was 7 years ago tonight!!!

Sept. 18 - This day in History

-September 18, 1983 - Kiss appears on MTV without their trademark makeup for the first time ever.

****What a dark, dark day that was. Those who don't learn from history, etc, etc, etc. I cried for days. Part of my childhood died that day and never came back

-September 18, 1997 - US media magnate Ted Turner donates USD $1 billion to the United Nations.

***I bet he wishes he had THAT money back now!

-September 18, 2001 - First mailing of anthrax letters from Trenton, NJ in the 2001 anthrax attacks.

***We had a concert at The Roxy a few weeks after this happened. They had to evacuate the building when they found a mirror on a table back in one of the dressing rooms with some white powder on it.

STOP SMOKING POT!!!!

Metallica Box Misses One Small Thing, THE CD
by Paul Cashmere - September 13 2008photo by Ros O'Gorman
Fans who purchase the UK pressed box set edition of Metallica’s ‘Death Magnetic’ album may discover that there is no sound. That is because they forgot to put in the CD.This premium package of the album is priced at $124.99.
Not only is the CD missing from many of the boxes, so is the limited edition lithograph. The box was meant to include a vinyl version of Death Magnetic, a CD and digital version and the lithograph.
The vinyl version is a 5-LP set.
A note from the distributor to those who purchased online reads “if you open up the box set you may notice it is missing the lithograph and is also missing the CD”.
Oops. How very spinal tap of them.
Metallica is released through the Warner imprint Elektra in the United States. It is only the Universal pressings out of the UK for the rest of the world that are effected. The Metallica album was released worldwide yesterday (Sept. 12).

This should suck.....

.....stand by forthe announcement from Chris Squire that THIS 2008 tour was cancelled because of the 9-11 attacks or the violence in Tianamen Square....NOT because of poor ticket sales.

Rock band Yes to tour with replacement singer
By MARGIE SZAROLETA Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The classic rock band Yes, which was forced to cancel their 40th anniversary tour this year due to the illness of its lead singer, has decided to relaunch the tour with an "understudy" - a Yes tribute band singer.
Benoit David, who sings in several Yes tribute bands in Montreal, will replace Jon Anderson on the "In the Present" tour, which kicks of Nov. 4 in Ontario, Canada, according to bassist Chris Squire.

"I think it's all going to work out fine," Squire told The Associated Press on Wednesday. "Of course, realistically, there's an element of risk, but there always is."

Yes, which consists of Squire, Anderson, guitarist Steve Howe and drummer Alan White, scrapped their anniversary tour in June after Anderson suffered acute respiratory failure and was ordered by doctors to rest six months.
Squire found David on the Internet after a friend sent him a YouTube clip of David's tribute band, Close To The Edge. Squire liked what he saw and called David to offer an audition.
"The first thing he said to me was, 'Well, I'm looking around to see where the cameras are in case I'm being punked,'" Squire said.

Yes has taken a page from another classic rock group, Journey, who selected Arnel Pineda, a sound-a-like of old lead singer Steve Perry, to be their singer after the group discovered him singing Journey songs on YouTube. Pineda sang on the group's successful comeback album this year and has also been touring with them.

It's not the first time Yes has had a singer besides Anderson. Trevor Horn sang on the 1980 Yes album "Drama" when Anderson briefly left the band. Squire hopes to work songs from that album into the set for the upcoming tour, plus a few songs he said were not Anderson's favorites to perform live but the rest of the band likes.

"You can't ever really replace Jon Anderson, because he's been such a force in the music business," Squire said. "We look upon his replacement as more of an understudy."
Squire said he is hopeful Anderson will be well enough to do shows next year.
Yes' hits include "I've Seen All Good People" and "Owner of a Lonely Heart."

HAHAHA!!! Thank You NFL Commissioner Goodell!

It'll cost mucho dinero for Chad Ocho Cinco to switch jerseys
By Chris Chase
Don't expect to see Chad Johnson Ocho Cinco wearing his new name on a jersey anytime soon. CNBC's Darren Rovell reports on his blog that the former Mr. Johnson would be forced to buy out the stock of the 100,000 remaining "C. Johnson" jerseys before making the switch to "Ocho Cinco". If Reebok asked Ocho Cinco to pay for the cost of making the unsold jerseys, the total could reach upwards of $4 million (or $50 million pesos).
Because Johnson changed his name so close to the start of the season, Reebok was left in a bind since they'd have to produce new jerseys and eat the old ones. That's why the NFL has told Johnson he'd have to reimburse the company for the price of the jerseys. That's not unprecedented, rookie linebacker Keith Rivers did it last week when he changed his uniform number. Of course, Rivers didn't have thousands of jerseys with his name on it on sales racks nationwide.
This whole charade, of course, is pretty ridiculous. It's tough to defend Johnson, as he's so narcissistic that he makes T.O. look like Mother Teresa. And the NFL is so blatant in their attempts to block Johnson from donning his new name on the back of his Bengals jersey that it almost seems beneath them. Sure, it's inane and self-serving and could set a bad precedent, but shouldn't the league be focusing on more important issues, like stopping players from celebrating touchdowns?

My own private NFL Manifesto type junk thing

With 1 week in the books, I’d like to talk about a few things near & dear to my heart…. The NFL. Here are just a few random thoughts I’d like to pass on.

1) The Patriots will still win the AFC East. They will lose a few games probably, and we will see 20-17 or 16-10 victories as opposed to the 40-3 or 37-13 victories as we saw last year, but none the less, they are going to be OK.

2) And I am sure Randy Moss will step up to the plate and be the leader that he is. Just because they were winning all of last year, and he may not see the ball as much this year, I don’t think he will revert to his old ways…….

Yeah, right!

It is already beginning as he started crying that the clean hit on Tom Brady was a dirty hit. STAND BY FOR MELTDOWN! I hope Belichick has plenty of PAMPERS around in Randy’s size.

3) And to the liberal scum Sports press that was bemoaning the fact that Tom Brady was out for the season… what would you suggest? We cancel the rest of the season? SHAME ON YOU! I have news for you… THERE IS NO ONE BIGGER THAN THE GAME! There were a lot of you that thought Mike Vick was, but here it is a year later and he isn’t missed in the least! Now I shouldn’t even use Tom Brady & Mike Vick in the same breath, but my point is: THERE IS NO ONE BIGGER THAN THE GAME!

4) The Packers will still win the NFC North. They are going to be just fine

5) I was bothered to not hear a SINGLE NFL analyst (pronounced ANAL-CYST if you are talking about Keith Olberman, Chris Collingsworth or most of the ESPN staff) …. NOT ONE… mentioned the Atlanta Falcons as a potentially better team? I watched all 4 of the Falcons pre-season games and though they will not win the Super Bowl, and probably not even the NFC South…. I think there are enough pieces in place that they could easily go 8-8. Much of the human debris on the team like Joe Horn and DeAngelo “head case” Hall are gone, as well as worthless coaches who let the inmates run the asylum. In their place are players that WANT to play and want to win, as well as a coaching staff that seems committed to “righting the ship” and being competitive again.

6) Someone needs to teach DeAngelo Hall how to play football. His dirty hits and attempts to hurt people with late hits and out of bounds tactics are NOT how you play football. He had a history of that in Atlanta, and it looks like he is at it again in Oakland after 1 game. What a worthless individual. Talk about some anger issues he needs to resolve, or something!

7) If last Winter, I had told you that after 1 week, thought that the top 3 QB’s in the AFC would be Jay Cutler, Ben Roethlisberger & Bret Favre, would you have believed me? MAYBE Big Ben, but…. I know the season is young, but it looks to be very exciting if every week is going to be like this! Which leads me to……

8) What happened to some of the AFC elite? The Chargers lose, The Colts lose (and look flat), The Jags Lose… well the Titans won IN SPITE OF Vince Young….which leads me to….

9) How brilliant does Titans Coach Jeff Fisher look right now? If you recall, back in ’06, he wanted to draft Matt Lineart, but was over ruled by Titans ownership to draft Vince Young. Not that Matt Lineart would have taken them to the Promised Land, and not that Matt Lineart is a pro-bowler right now in Arizona….. but I like my chances right now with Matt Lineart at the helm as opposed to Vince Young, the head case! It is your home opener, you win against what could be your biggest rival and your starting QB is getting booed out of the building! Poor Jeff Fisher. I hope Kerry Collins tears it up there in Nashville!

10) The NFC… I am not convinced the Cowboys will be in The Superbowl…. If you put a gun to my head right now, I’d say The NY Giants.

Tampa or hopefully, New Orleans will come out of the South, The Giants in the East, Green Bay in the North and as for the West….. who wants it? Arizona? By default? Maybe Frisco? And I see both Wild Cards falling in the East again this year to The Cowboys and Eagles.

11) ESPN….. I LOVE the opening week Monday Night Football double header! It is a tradition in my household every year. In fact, why not do it EVERY week! You have so many games that get lost in the shuffle every Sunday…. Give us 2 games on Monday nights please….. especially since WWE sux so bad now. Which brings me to…..

12) Who else had the misfortune of watching the 2nd game of the ESPN double on Monday night? The game was OK, and I realize their top announcing team was in Green Bay…. But the Mike Greenburg & Mike Golic combo was HORRID!!!! They didn’t have ANYBODY else that could do that game? No One? At All?

They were beyond terrible! And listening to their liberal ass excuse making every time Jamarcus Russell or DeAngelo Hall did something stupid made me switch the channels a few times. Jamarcus Russell was stinking up the place! Yet at no point did the 2 Mike G’s say anything critical. Why? Did they think they were going to prevent a race war? Ditka finally stepped up and said it like it needed to be said, that Jamarcus his self needs to step up which, of course was greeted by total silence by the 2 liberal turds, Golic & Greenburg. GET RID OF THEM!!!! THEY TRULY SUCK!!!!

13) And the time has come to get rid of 2 preseason games. Let’s play 18 regular season games & 2 preseasons…. And a few teams can have 3 if they want, so they can play the Mexico Bowl or the Japan Bowl or whatever. What? 2 preseason games are not enough? How about we let the teams start the regular season with an expanded roster for the first 2 weeks or so, in an effort to get a better “look see” at some players? I vote ‘YES!”

14) And it is time to add one more WILD CARD to each conference, so that ONLY the #1 seed gets a BYE week at the end of the season.

15) And it is time to do away with SUDDEN DEATH OVERTIME in the NFL. What usually happens is whoever wins the coin flip, marches down field and kicks a field goal. Big Whoop! How about changing it to instead of SUDDEN DEATH… first team to score, we do SUDDEN DEATH…..first team to score 6 points? So if someone wins the toss and returns the kickoff for a TD, it is over…. Or throws a TD pass….. but you have to get to 6 points first. I like my idea.

Just a few thoughts I have right now. It is indeed… THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR!!!!!

It's about damn time!!! Waffle House Museum Opens!

Waffle House Museum Opens

(WSB Radio) -- There's the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and the NASCAR Museum. Now the Waffle House Museum has opened in metro Atlanta.

A ribbon cutting for the new museum was held at the site of the original Waffle House which opened on East College Avenue in Avondale Estates some 53 years ago.

On hand were the two founders, Joe Rogers Sr. and Tom Forkner, both neighbors in Avondale who decided to go into business together.

"He said if I'd show him how to operate the restaurant, he'd build it and that's how it all got started," says Rogers whose son Joe Jr. now oversees operation of 1600 Waffle House restaurants across 25 states.

The original restaurant closed in 1973 and became home to various other restaurants, even a tire store. Waffle House purchased the property again to turn it into a museum that includes original menus, uniforms, and other memorabilia. It also includes a replica of the original counter, stools, and kitchen.

The museum will only be open on special occassions and for corporate events.

Another legend gone

Singer-actor Jerry Reed dies at the age of 71
By JOHN GEROME, Associated Press Writer

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Jerry Reed, a singer who appeared in the "Smokey and the Bandit" movies, has died of complications from emphysema at age 71, his longtime booking agent said Tuesday.

Carrie Moore-Reed, who is no relation to the star, said Reed died early Monday morning. Reed was a gifted guitarist who later became a songwriter, singer and actor.
As a singer in the 1970s and early 1980s, he had a string of hits that included "Amos Moses," "When You're Hot, You're Hot," "East Bound and Down," and "The Bird."

In the mid-1970s, he began acting in movies such as "Smokey and the Bandit" with Burt Reynolds, "Gator" "Hot Stuff" and "High-Ballin'."

***There is no telling how many records this guy actually played on. When Chet Atkins was practically running Nashville, he got Jerry to play A LOT of the sessions… he was basically Chet’s “GO TO PICKER”. Waylon talks about it in his autobiography some. Jerry could tell some stories as well!

I had a chance to see him at Lanierland back in Oct. of 2003 & did not go. My Brother did and said he actually didn’t play guitar that much, he had arthritis pretty bad.

The Iron Lady

This is very sad. One of the truly, truly great figures of the 20th century, who probably did more than any woman in History to free so many people from the chains of totalitarianism, and who often times gets forgotten in the shuffle between Reagan & Gorbachev, is in poor health these days. This saddens me greatly to read this.

Please keep her in your thoughts & prayers

Gee, what a shocker! Who is CNSNews.com? You had to dig real deep into the internet to find this, didn’t you? I’m going to go check CNN.com, ABC.com, MSN.com, et al. I’m sure it’s the lead story on every media outlet.

On Saturday, they were predicting thunder showers this coming Wed, Thur and Fri.

Now?

No rain on any of those days. This is the NORM for the WC.

So, they can rarely correctly predict the weather even a few days in advance…………………………yet they can tell us what will happen in twenty years if we don’t bend to their fascist, environmentalist wacko policies.

TYPICAL

PREPARE TO VOMIT / DO NOT READ THIS!

Unless you want to vomit profusely. Please prepare to take that US Constitution to the paper shredder if Obama gets elected....for he will come down on the side of fecal matter like Connie Berto, the dried up skunk who JUST HAPPENS to be in both of these videos.

Hopefully the gubbment will be there to change her diaper and cut her food for her.

THIS encapsulates ALOT of what is wrong with this country right now

Buyer's Remorse

I think that a great deal of Demoncrats are feeling just that these days..... BUYER's REMORSE! Oh you won't find that in the mainstream media, but listening to talk radio and reading blogs, it seems evident.

"Oh what were we thinking? Why the hell didn't we slow down? We were so worried about not looking like a racist Klansman, we cost our girl Hillary the coronation!"

And then I am sure they reasoned that: "If Hillary gets in there, then she will step aside and let Bill run things, because that is what we really want!"

But in all actuality, I think they got Obama from the Anti-Hillary vote. I remember January 2008.... on the Dummycrat side, your choices were: HILLARY and NOT HILLARY. Obama & Edwards were splitting the NOT HILLARY vote, but this form of racism that liberals posess that they can't understand took over them and they voted Obama.

And no, come convention time it will not be enough to cost Obama the nomination, but there may be just enough Hillary votes to cast a shadow on that convention and soil the coronation concert.btw.... I am still looking for what bands will be playing at MILE HIGH STADIUM next Thursday for the Obama coronation. You truly do not think 75,000 people will just show up for him do you?

PLUS, it is free.

Which leads me to my next point......not that it matters, but I am beginning to think John McCain is going to pick Joe Lieberman for his VP. Think about it:

-McCain doesn't care about the Conservative right..... he has never catered to them and I am sure he feels he can do this without them, or they have NOWHERE else to go, so they are stuck.

-He has been seen alot with Lieberman, why just 2 days ago when McCain was in Atlanta, Lieberman was with him. John is obviously doing this to test the waters and see what kind of reaction, if any, it generates. The fact that no one has raised hell about it, other than Rush Limbaugh, looks more & more like a green light to McCain.

-McCain was just an eyelash away from being Kerry's VP pick in 2004, and if asked, I am sure McCain would have leapt at the chance. You know that idea and the thought of "HISTORY" is incredibly attractive to the McCain people. Obama will be chanting, "WE ARE MAKING HISTORY" all the way til election day..... this way, McCain can say it as well. The fact that Lieberman was the #2 guy on the losing ticket in 2000 isn't a factor.... oh wait, he did get more popular votes, so......

-Face it..... other than maybe Zell Miller, Joe Lieberman is probably the LEAST WORST Democrat out there! The mindset of the Republican establishment & of THE PARTY.... the win at ANY COST mindset, enhances this greatly! Hell, if McCain picked Hillary or Bill, the GOP Leadership would be ALL over that & praising the choice!

-And finally..... I think the McCain people think Lieberman will sew up the Jewish vote for them. Forget Lieberman for a second..... I truly do not think that the American Jewish Community is that crazy about Hussein Obama..... I think he is seen as "The Muslim Candidate", and if they had their druthers, he'd step aside and make way for Hillary. The American Jewish Community is at the forefront of this "Buyer's Remorse" sentiment, though I do not believe they supported Hussein Obama in the first place, but I truly think they have a problem with him....and understandibly so. So where will they go come election day?

Add Lieberman to the McCain ticket, and I think that is where they hope the American Jewish voter turns to!

But I do not think it will work. I don't see adding Lieberman to the ticket bringing in one extra vote. When it comes right down to it, the American Jewish voter will still vote for Hussein Obama, sure, some may sit it out, but not enough to make up for the Republicans who stay home that day!

And it really doesn't matter anyway.... whoever McCain picks, he will be ridiculed for it. Hopefully it is the correct & beneficial ones ridiculing him for it (the liberal socialist press).

It doesn't matter if it's prvate property, right? I mean, he has the deed to the property, but it is THEIR land, right?

Go Get 'em, James!!! Teach this liberal trash a lesson

Olympic Horse Crap!

-It is Monday, I hope the Olympics are good tonight... Last night we were treated to the Michael Phelps, "So, it has been 24 hours since.... " interviews. And now on one of the pre-game shows, it looks like we will get the Michael Phelps, "So, It has been 48 hours since.... " interviews.

Tomorrow night, I am sure we will get Michael Phelps, "So, it has been 72 hours since....." interviews.

-Speaking of which, have you seen any of those interviews with his Mom, and those stupid little "scrapbook" pieces with the tinkling piano music? She carries on about his ADHD like it is some goddamn badge of honor he suffers from it and needs medication. Nothing different than 99.9% of the rest of the mothers in the USA, I guess. I have never once heard ANYTHING about his father. Did he pass away when he was young, or something?

-And I was further disappointed to hear all this shyt about him listening to VILE hip hop music as well on his iPod nonstop.... like that is cool or some badge of honor as well. Why don't they play some Lil' Wayne (the crap he listens to) on NBC? What? They Can't? Because it is inappropriate? Says who? I would suggest simply showing the lyrics but those probably can't be deciphered, and the ones that can aren't broadcastable.

-Speaking of ADHD, Insane Bolt, the Jamaican that ran the 100M & won.... he can't even pay attention for 10 seconds to run a race, but then he ran around the track for 10 minutes. I nominate him for precious medications.

-Women's Beach Voleyball.... is that all that is going on over there? Shyt, that must be bigger than the NFL right? I mean, when they get back here, I am sure the Women's Beach Volleyball matches will be held in standing room only NFL stadiums every week, right? Who doesn't love that stuff ALL the damn time!

And women's softball. I think CNBC has shown EVERY pitch of the American team.

PS: John McCain was here in Atlanta last night.... of course, 11 Alive had to give EQUAL coverage to the human debris down there protesting him. Jesus, did you see that fecal matter? I am sure combined, they maybe all had 6 dollars in savings in a bank. And they showed this one hippie burnout woman that brought her African Drum to play.... she looked like she has never heard of makeup, soap, deodorant, shampoo or a razor.

If asked, I am sure she is pro-abortion..... but who in he hell would want to get that sorry sac of protoplasm pregnant?

Last year, she probably earned a whopping $125.00 in earnings for the calendar year 2007, and her vote counts just as much as mine...... what is wrong with that picture?

Crazy 88 day post #2 - Mrs. Brett Favre

You people are just going to have to understand….. my hand was broken by the Federal Gov’t who just happen to be in bed with Ross Perot right now, ok? It may have hindered my performance to some degree on Tuesday night at the tapings of WWE SMACKDOWN, but you would never know it.

Remember where you read this first…. The ratings for the CW Network will be at an all time high this evening, as people from all over North America tune in to see ME! The last time when RAW was at Philips Arena and I was prominently displayed, they had a record number of TIVO requests from USC Cheerleaders, UCLA Cheerleaders, Florida & Florida State Cheerleaders, all I can say is that the people at TIVO told me they never saw the number of requests, and the type of requests they did as when I was on RAW. Some of them are not fit to print here, they are kind of “adult”, and I don’t blog “blue”, so please understand.

But like you read, my hand was broken by the Federal Government, who happens to be in bed with Ross Perot. That is all I am going to say about it, and that is all you need to know about it. They tried to stop my blogging, they were trying hard to deny YOU, your right to read my blogs….. but citizens, their terror tactics didn’t work.

Which brings me to today’s topic….. it is with a great deal of pain and discomfort that I want to talk to you today about MRS. BRETT FAVRE. For yesterday, I had a LIPTON GREEN TEA WITH CITRUS vision. No, not like the RON RICO 151 visions that
Shibuii (pronounced SHE – Bowie) has, or the George Michael visions that El Chuck encounters that keep him from coming.....into work, No, a LIPTON GREEN TEA WITH CITRUS vision.

The lovely New York Media have been licking their chops at The Favre’s arriving in the Big Apple, and they are getting ready to lay a trap for them. Here’s how it goes:

I give it til Halloween when Mrs. Brett Favre will fall right into a trap set for her by the New York Media….. she will make some idle remark like: “Why would anyone vote for Obama?” at some New York social gathering or some private gala……it will be overheard, & the New York Tabloids will go NUTS!!!! It will be tantamount to her uttering the “N” word (because even though she didn’t say IT, that is what the liberal scum – socialist media is thinking, THUS what they heard).

Mrs. Brett Favre will become a distraction……. Much amounts of ink and paper will be spent in proving and making this point……. The Jets will lose 2 games in a row…..you will see the Sunday Fox, CBS & ESPN reporters talking to Favre’s New York Jets team mates looking for comments on the “Mrs. Favre situation”, etc, etc, etc. You just watch.

I don’t know what it will be, maybe something like the Obama comment, but you just know the New York Media can’t wait to get ahold of them. They have been BIG FISH in a small Wisconsin pond for TOO long. The fear of some news person getting their Packers press credentials revoked in Green Bay was far too great a risk the last 16 years…. No such thing will exist in the New York Media magnifying glass. This fall’s election will not be enough, they need more. You just watch.

And remember where you read it first.

8-8: Ten less votes for Obama!!!!

5 things you never knew about Chairman Mao, but were afraid to ask

5 things you never knew about Chairman Mao, but were afraid to ask.

Yes…. THAT Chairman Mao…. The “George Washington” of Communist China…though that isn’t fair to George to use his name in the same sentence as a butcher like Mao.

Remember these things as you are watching the Olympics. The regime in power that is putting on all these “bright lights and shiny things” parade is the same regime that Mao created.

Remember the college students that were flattened by tanks in Tiananmen Square in June of 1989 as the pageantry unfolds.

I will never forget that October day in 1989 when I was in Washington, DC working for that Congressman in his Capitol Hell Office…. I was sorting the mail, going through it, and we received an unmarked letter from someone. A BTK letter perhaps? Nope…. I wasn’t that lucky……I opened it and it contained a simple letter with three 4x6 snapshots in it. The letter had a few Chinese characters on it and some remarks about “Never forget” and “THIS is what happened that night in Tiananmen Square”.

The pictures truly made me truly want to vomit on the spot. The 3 snapshots were pictures that were taken that night of June 4, 1989 and had to have been smuggled out of China. Without being too graphic, they were 3 pictures of what had been students demonstrating after they had been killed by the PEOPLE’S ARMY, and some had been run over by Tanks of The People’s Army. Do you have any idea what a pile of Chinese students look like after they have been run over by a Chinese Tank? Well now, I do. They were very graphic, these weren’t some Hollywood “special effects” thing…… these were eye witness pictures. This was the work of Mao’s regime….. this was the work of your Olympic hosts.

So read these things about Chairman Mao…. And if you have time, read “Life and Death in Shang Hai” by Nien Cheng, so you can find out how “neat & cool” Communism, socialism and the Chinese Government really are.

1. Mao became a Communist at the age of 27 for purely pragmatic reasons: a job and income from the Russians.

2. Far from organizing the Long March in 1934, Mao was nearly left behind by his colleagues who could not stand him and had tried to oust him several times. The aim of the March was to link up with Russia to get arms. The Reds survived the March because Chiang Kai-shek let them, in a secret horse-trade for his son and heir, whom Stalin was holding hostage in Russia.

3. Mao grew opium on a large scale.

4. After he conquered China, Mao's over-riding goal was to become a superpower and dominate the world: "Control the Earth," as he put it.

5. Mao caused the greatest famine in history by exporting food to Russia to buy nuclear and arms industries: 38 million people were starved and slave-driven to death in 1958-61. Mao knew exactly what was happening, saying: "half of China may well have to die."

All this from a man who refused to brush his teeth and would never bathe, yet have women that had been taken from their home run warm, damp cloths over him, instead. All this from a man our country feared for many years.

Remember my posts about an ABSENCE OF LEADERSHIP?

All this from a leader of a country that could have AT BEST…. Lobbed missiles at us, yet our glorious leaders feared him and gave him aid & money…. All to prop up his regime of terror.

And the madness continues to this day.

No liberal media bias, right?

ITEM:

Read this crap:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/rasmussen/20080729/pl_rasmussen/demvp20080729

It is a story about potential Obama VP candidates…. It is supposedly based on a “nationwide poll”… of the interns working there this summer and their friends they text all day…WOW!! That wacky “Generation Text”! Anyway, the same usual names show up…. Hillary & The “Breck Girl”, John Edwards. Yet, in this story that broke today about this “Nationwide Poll”, they failed to mention John Edwards little run in with the press of the National Enquirer.

What? You haven’t heard about it? I heard about it on a local AM stations news when the story broke a few weeks ago….. and that was IT! I guess it isn’t really news, right? I mean, his wife does have the “BIG “K””, cancer, right? And to most all Demoncrats, this cheating on your wife is just simple, normal everyday operating procedure. Hell, in their eyes, it probably shows he is indeed Presidential Timber! What’s the big deal, right? Everyone does it right? That is who these Demoncrats look for in their leaders, to them, that is neat sh*t, so SO WHAT, right?

I guess that explains his “rise in the polls” here recently…THIS is what they want in a leader.

And NO, my dear liberal scum… EVERYONE didn’t do it. President Ronald Reagan had so much respect for the Oval Office and the institution of The Presidency, he wouldn’t even remove his jacket in the Oval Office. Ronald Reagan…remember him? He was always booed when he went to Europe…. He was always heckled and the demonstrators would throw trash at him. And he wouldn’t get cool bands to play concerts at his rallies and junk.

In case you care to peek at it…. Here is the Natl. Enquirer story about the BRECK GIRL, John Edwards:

I was saddened to hear about Robert Novak contracting cancer. I was lucky enough to meet him once in Des Moines, Iowa in 1987. This was all pre-Rush Limbaugh days…. And to us Young Conservatives, Robert Novak was THE MAN!!!! Anyway, it was late on a Saturday night, I was coming back to my hotel, and Mr. Novak was just leaving the lounge. He graciously stopped and posed for a picture with me. What was one minute to him, was a lifetime to me…. And I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for him.

And a dear friend of my Father’s back in Wichita, KS, we just found out, was diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus this past Friday. DETECTIVE JOHN GARRISON. He was a lifelong member of the Wichita Police Department, and any of you amateur sleuths out there that researched & read up on BTK will recognize his name. He was there from practically Day One investigating the Otero Murders. He is mentioned in both Stephen Singualar’s & Robert Beattie’s books (as well as pictured too!). Get Well Soon Detective Garrison! I have so much enjoyed our email correspondences the last 3 years & look forward to many, many more!

ITEM:

IT WAS 20 YEARS AGO TODAY…… July 29, 1988… .I first set foot on Soviet soil. It was the trip of a lifetime! Something I will write about more, later… but something totally made possible by my family and my Grandmother’s. I flew from Wichita to New York…. New York to Helsinki and a train from Helsinki to Moscow. I’ll never forget that feeling as the train stopped at the Soviet Border and seeing those giant guard towers growing high into the trees, and hearing the CLUNK as the wheels of our train were adjusted to the different gauge of the Russian train tracks.

More on that later

July 17, 2008 - Drug Talk

I was just sitting here during a break shooting the breeze with my good buddy #3….. he became a Father exactly 8 years ago today, congratulations to him & his little snowflake. As we were talking, my iTunes started to play (in it’s entirety) the Motley Crue over looked and classic, THEATRE OF PAIN. If one was to put a gun to my head and say you HAVE to take a Motley Crue lp with you to a desert island, it would be THEATRE OF PAIN, no question.

Anyway, we were talking about Crue and their legacy and the conversation eventually turned to drugs…. I wonder if Crue even remembers recording that LP? I have heard they barely remember GIRLS, GIRLS, GIRLS…. Can’t say I blame them, even though it does contain one of their best songs, WILDSIDE. Anyway, it is such a shame that so many delve into drugs, and so many destroy themselves because of them. Sure, I guess it is human nature that folks will always try to alter their consciousness to some degree….little children will spin around and around to make themselves dizzy and fall over, there is a rush that is received by riding a roller coaster, I guess….. but after so many years, it saddens me to see the amount of lives ruined by drugs. I see so many people and wonder “what if?” and ask “why?”

Sure, I am going to sound hypocritical here, I think Aerosmith and Eric Clapton were better when they were junkies, they made some amazing music…. But WHAT IF? What had they kept their noses clean…LITERALLY? Would DRAW THE LINE and NIGHT IN THE RUTS be the awesome lps they are? What about Ol’ Slowhand? Listen to all that over the top jamming we here on LIVE CREAM during NSU…. What awesome songs were on that BLIND FAITH lp…. Would we have ever heard a 2nd Blind Faith lp where perhaps the pieces began to gel a little more? Same could be asked about DEREK & THE DOMINOES.

And could THE ROSSINGTON-COLLINS Band been the successors to Skynyrd’s throne? The 2 lps they did were pretty mediocre, and that whole time period seemed to be mired in drug use & abuse…. Sure they were probably still hurting and their mentor & guiding light, Ronnie was gone…. But to me, looking back on that period, and someone who was a fan and saw The R-C Band a couple of times, it just wreaks of failure and wasted time. Perhaps it just wasn’t meant to be. Had the plane crash never happened, would Skynyrd still have been putting out lps in 1983? Would Steve Gaines taken over as one of the primary forces in the band? Would Allen or Gary have been sacked because of drug abuse? You know Ronnie had sobered up in the year before his death, due to the birth of his daughter Melody.

Perhaps it was all never meant to be. But was it because of drugs? Maybe…probably. As much as the FLOWER POWER GENERATION and all the liberal scum that are now in positions of authority like to spout off how much they were right back then, how they were correct in that ALL WE NEED IS LOVE, how we need to GIVE PEACE A CHANCE & WAR IS NOT THE ANSWER, there is one thing they were totally, unconditionally 100% wrong on… and that was drugs. I know… talk like that is not cool…. And this will be interpreted as I am just trying to tell people how to live their lives and force my way down other people’s lives…. Nope, not the case…. Not even close. I am simply saying it saddens me to see people destroying their lives with them.

It makes me think back to 2 stories I remember from “Back in the Day”. The first is from a member of the 80’s band RATT… he talked about how hard it was adjusting to life on the road, how easy it was to fall into that mire of parties & drugs, and how they would pull into town and there would be all these people at the hotel and at the arena “Looking for the Party”….. and how in most cases, THEY (Ratt) were the party! What a horrible way to go through life….. people so totally void of anything of any substance in their lives, all they can do is wait for RATT to get to town on a Tuesday so they can get high, and …..perhaps hanging around with some one who is on TV and is on the radio will validate their life some….perhaps. If only they could get close enough to touch the hem of their garment!

Then Thursday, Motley Crue is in town…..

and Friday is Aerosmith……

Saturday is Stone Temple Pilots

Sunday is Skynyrd… and the treadmill continues.

The other story is one that former bass player for Jane’s Addiction, Eric A tells. They were in Europe in early 1991 touring behind the “Ritual de lo Habitual” lp. Eric and Perry Farrell (the lead singer) weren’t talking to each other at all! And to further complicate things, Eric was trying desperately to clean his self up and get off drugs. So every time they pulled into a city, he would find a museum, usually an art museum, and spend the day exploring it! It got him out, it got him to see the city they were in and learn something about it, and it kept him away from Perry who spent the entire day on the bus smoking hash. What a waste! You are given the opportunity to see the world and instead you spend the entire time inside altering your consciousness with drugs.

I have heard similar stories like Perry’s about Motley Crue, Aerosmith & many professional wrestlers who got to go to Japan, Europe and travel all over North America as well. I am sure there are many, many more, but I think that is highly commendable of Eric A. I am sure that here, 17 years later, he is a much happier person than Perry is.

I guess just consider the source….. most of those folks aren’t terribly intelligent in the first place.
I used to do the same thing myself when I would travel to go see The Grateful Dead in the early 90’s…. I would always go to some city that I never had been to before and while there, see the place. I went to the Bay Area twice, Louisville, KY, Pittsburgh & Las Vegas to name a few places. And I always had fun, as did the folks I would go with. Heck, what is the point of travelling to see the Dead if all you wanna do is camp out and stay high?

Oh well, to each their own.

July 16, 2008 - absence of Leadership

At the end of a previous blog, I posed the question: Where are the next Reagan’s?” Where are the “Reagan’s” that my little brothers, nephews & nieces will grow up with? Who will be their Reagans? Just as there were FDR’s for my Grandmother’s generation, Eisenhower’s for my parents & Ronaldus Maximus for me, this exposes a problem that has bothered me for awhile now… the absence of leadership in current day politics.

I once heard Sammy Hagar say that he felt one of the reasons Reagan was so popular was that Reagan actually believed in something. He did! And he let people know it! Reagan actually STOOD FOR SOMETHING!!!! And though it may not have been what you agreed with, one had to give him credit that he stood FOR SOMETHING…..unlike today’s politicians….all of which must first wet their index finger, hold it up and see which way the political winds are blowing…..heaven forbid we make one person upset with us…… perhaps it is best to toss out the baby with the bathwater, right?

We saw President Bush 43 take the bull by the horns in the days and months after 9-11, when once again, the wolf didn’t pass by the door…. And he should be commended for that. Yet in the last couple of years, we have NOT seen that from him…. A perfect example of that was in the days after the VA TECH Massacre of April 2007. Not that it is exactly the President’s duty to make an issue of something like that, but his pansy non-statement and his vanilla remarks were most telling… THERE & THEN was a time he could have seized the moment and shown some muscle. Nope… he failed.

So let’s be realistic, though I will not be voting for either, McCain or Obama will be sworn in this January to succeed President Bush. The lesser of two evils you say? Well, as Ayn Rand said, “The lesser of two evils is still evil”, and in this case, I am not quite sure which one of the two is more evil? Are either of them our next Reagan? HARDLY!!! Both are the typical Senate wishy-washers who always have & always will hold that precious moist finger to the air to see which way the political winds blow. Instead of consulting the US Constitution for direction and legality, they will wait for a Gallup/CNN poll to find out what 51% of the people want. Do either of them have the charisma to lead? Not in my opinion. Obama delivers a helluva speech, and that will probably be enough…..nevermind he doesn’t say anything of any substance at all…. But the fact that he (and McCain will do this too) both come out between now & November to let the American people know they are both:

1) for jobs
2) they both support education
3) both want a strong America, and finally
4) both were against 9-11

And the great number of uninformed voters will walk away with just that. When they are quizzed, they will say: “I am voting for Obama/McCain.” Then when you ask them why, they will say: “well, he is for jobs…. He supports education…. He wants a strong America…. And he felt the same way I did after 9-11!” If pressed, they may add that Obama is a good orator or something to the likes of that. Oh, how could I forget? Obama is for CHANGE. Ever hear of a guy named V.I. Lenin? He was for change as well….. he advocated change & talked about it a lot. He finally came to power in Russia….. no, he did not overthrow the Czar, he overthrew a democratically elected parliament (the Czar abdicated in Feb. of 1917, the Revolution was in Oct. of 1917, according to the old style Julian Calendar).

Change for change’s sake, right?

Revolution for the hell of it, right?

PS: Back in 2004, I asked A LOT of people who they were voting for in the Presidential election…. And when they told me who, I would ask them “why?” Of ALL but just one of the people I asked that responded “John Kerry”, when asked why, here is what they would say:

Because George W. Bush is a Nazi!

Because George W. is retarded!

Because George W. Bush was selected not elected!

Because Bush lied about Weapons of Mass Destruction!

Because Bush (insert other misunderstood point they heard on David Letterman or the Jon Stewart show here) If Letterman, Leno, Jon Stewart or Stephen Colbert said it, it has to be true!!!! And usually, THAT was the ONLY source of news & current events for these poor unconscious individuals.

NO ONE, but one person, could tell me WHY they were voting for John Kerry, they only told me WHY they were not voting for George W. Bush. I guess if Charles Manson had been running that year, he too, would have received the 48% of the vote John Kerry did, the way it sounded. The one person who told me why they were voting for John Kerry, and actually told me why, was my Step Mother, Barbara….. she never once offered me up some nonsense about WMD’s or he knew about 9-11, etc
