DETROIT (AP) Pervis Jackson, the man behind the deep, rolling bass voice in a string of 1970s R&B hits by The Spinners, has died. He was 70.
2) Leroy Sievers
WASHINGTON (AP) - Leroy Sievers, a National Public Radio commentator who turned his battle with cancer into a popular and touching radio and online series, has died from his disease. He was 53.
3) Jerry Krupnick
NEWARK, N.J. (AP) Jerry Krupnick, a longtime editor and television writer for The Star-Ledger of Newark, died Thursday. He was 82.
4) Bill Stulla
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Bill Stulla, who as the star of local TV's "Cartoon Express with Engineer Bill" entertained young baby boomers with the "red light, green light" milk game and model trains, has died. He was 97.
5) Anthony J. Russo
SUFFOLK, Va. (AP) - Anthony J. Russo, a researcher who helped leak the Vietnam-era Pentagon Papers to the media and prompted wider public questioning of the war, has died, police said.
6) Lee Young
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Lee Young, a jazz drummer, recording artist and producer who played with Duke Ellington and other greats and became the first African-American to work as a Hollywood studio staff musician, has died. He was 94.
7) Eva Reich
HANCOCK, Maine (AP) - Dr. Eva Reich, daughter of Dr. Wilhelm Reich and lecturer on the controversial work on orgonomy that he pioneered more than a half century ago, has died. She was 84. Eva Reich, a native of Vienna who moved to the U.S. in 1938, participated in many of her father's controversial experiments. Wilhelm Reich, a psychiatrist, died in prison in 1957 after his conviction for ignoring an injunction that outlawed devices he developed to accumulate energy associated with sexual orgasm.
8) Darren "Bo" Taylor
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Darren "Bo" Taylor, a former member of the Crips who brokered a truce between warring inner-city gangs after the 1992 Los Angeles riots, has died. He was 42.
9) Anne Wright McCraken
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) ? Anne Wright McCraken, whose family owns the Wyoming Tribune Eagle and the Laramie Boomerang, died Saturday. She was 76.
10) Thomas B. Miller
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) ? Thomas B. Miller, a former West Virginia state Supreme Court Justice, died Tuesday. He was 79.
Miller's opinions expanded girls' abilities to play on boys' sports teams, outlined how marital assets should be distributed in a divorce and expanded the Supreme Court's ability to alter common law.
