5 things you never knew about Chairman Mao, but were afraid to ask.
Yes…. THAT Chairman Mao…. The “George Washington” of Communist China…though that isn’t fair to George to use his name in the same sentence as a butcher like Mao.
Remember these things as you are watching the Olympics. The regime in power that is putting on all these “bright lights and shiny things” parade is the same regime that Mao created.
Remember the college students that were flattened by tanks in Tiananmen Square in June of 1989 as the pageantry unfolds.
I will never forget that October day in 1989 when I was in Washington, DC working for that Congressman in his Capitol Hell Office…. I was sorting the mail, going through it, and we received an unmarked letter from someone. A BTK letter perhaps? Nope…. I wasn’t that lucky……I opened it and it contained a simple letter with three 4x6 snapshots in it. The letter had a few Chinese characters on it and some remarks about “Never forget” and “THIS is what happened that night in Tiananmen Square”.
The pictures truly made me truly want to vomit on the spot. The 3 snapshots were pictures that were taken that night of June 4, 1989 and had to have been smuggled out of China. Without being too graphic, they were 3 pictures of what had been students demonstrating after they had been killed by the PEOPLE’S ARMY, and some had been run over by Tanks of The People’s Army. Do you have any idea what a pile of Chinese students look like after they have been run over by a Chinese Tank? Well now, I do. They were very graphic, these weren’t some Hollywood “special effects” thing…… these were eye witness pictures. This was the work of Mao’s regime….. this was the work of your Olympic hosts.
So read these things about Chairman Mao…. And if you have time, read “Life and Death in Shang Hai” by Nien Cheng, so you can find out how “neat & cool” Communism, socialism and the Chinese Government really are.
1. Mao became a Communist at the age of 27 for purely pragmatic reasons: a job and income from the Russians.
2. Far from organizing the Long March in 1934, Mao was nearly left behind by his colleagues who could not stand him and had tried to oust him several times. The aim of the March was to link up with Russia to get arms. The Reds survived the March because Chiang Kai-shek let them, in a secret horse-trade for his son and heir, whom Stalin was holding hostage in Russia.
3. Mao grew opium on a large scale.
4. After he conquered China, Mao's over-riding goal was to become a superpower and dominate the world: "Control the Earth," as he put it.
5. Mao caused the greatest famine in history by exporting food to Russia to buy nuclear and arms industries: 38 million people were starved and slave-driven to death in 1958-61. Mao knew exactly what was happening, saying: "half of China may well have to die."
All this from a man who refused to brush his teeth and would never bathe, yet have women that had been taken from their home run warm, damp cloths over him, instead. All this from a man our country feared for many years.
Remember my posts about an ABSENCE OF LEADERSHIP?
All this from a leader of a country that could have AT BEST…. Lobbed missiles at us, yet our glorious leaders feared him and gave him aid & money…. All to prop up his regime of terror.
And the madness continues to this day.
